Robot 2.0

The budget of Shankar’s 2.0, the sequel to Rajinikanth’s Enthiran, has been revised.
It now stands at Rs 450 instead of Rs 400 crore, reports Catch News.
The movie’s initial estimate was Rs 350 crore which shot up to Rs 400 crore reportedly due to escalation in VFX cost.
A lavish set at Mahabalipuram and more elaborate post production work reportedly explain the present hike in the budget.
At this astronomical budget 2.0 is more than twice as expensive as Prem Ratan Dhan Pao, which was made at Rs 186 crore.
A Salman Khan flick Prem Ratan is said to be the most expensive Bollywood movie ever made.
In terms of budget it similarly outclasses Baahubali 2 as well, which is being made with Rs 450 crore.
The producers, Lyca films, may be in an adventurous mood as between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, who plays the antagonist, 2.0 covers all major segments of Indian and global markets.
2.0 is due for release this Diwali.
