Baahubali star Prabhas to become the first South Indian actor to get his wax statue.
Prabhas getting a place at Madame Tussauds is a big achievement for the Telugu industry
Bahubali star Prabhas has trumped the likes of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to become the first South Indian actor to have his wax statue at the prestigious Madame Tussauds. The 37-year-old actor's statue has been unveiled in the Bangkok museum and will soon be toured all over the world. Now, this is a proud moment for not only the Bahubali team but also the entire South Indian film industry.
Having starred in Baahubali:The Beginning (2015) and now Baahubali: The Conclusion, the Telugu actor has established himself as a pan-Indian superstar. It's not merely his macho on-screen presence but also his humble personality that made him the most searched actors on Google. Madame Tussauds Bangkok is pleased to be welcoming his statue into the ranks of influential Indian figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Narendra Modi. People have long been asking the question of why South stars haven't featured in the list of Indian celebs at the museum yet but we hope that Prabhas' entry will open gates for other actors.
Last year, Prabhas had a sitting with the artists in Hyderabad, where 350 photos and measurements were taken. He is depicted as his character Amarendra Baahubali in his battle armour at the Bangkok museum. During his sitting, Prabhas said, I am really happy to have been selected by Madame Tussauds and I think this was only possible because of fans. I am grateful for their unconditional love and support. I am also thankful to my guru, SS Rajamouli, for the opportunity to work on this fantastic project Baahubali.
